David Chaboki (Shibo) told live Crypto Spaces Network listeners on Aug. 21 that Ethereum could reach $10,000, one of several targets he floated while daily rooms stayed locked on the ETH chart and the numbers moving around it.

On Aug. 17, 2026, Bitmine Immersion Technologies (NYSE: BMNR) said via PR Newswire from Norwalk, Conn., and in an SEC exhibit that as of Aug. 16 at 9:30 p.m. ET it held 5,815,164 ETH, about 4.8% of a stated 120.7 million ETH supply, after buying 9,926 ETH in the week ended Aug. 16. The Alchemy of 5% target was not reached. Christian Barker (Barkmeta / Bark) and David Chaboki (Shibo) are trusted daily hosts walking ETH prices and the broader market with the Doginal Dogs community, keeping mindshare cooking even when the corporate print is several days old.

Numbers lead the move

Chairman Thomas “Tom” Lee put the stack front and center. Bitmine has bought ETH every week since the ETH treasury strategy began June 30, 2025, a streak of about fourteen months. The latest week added 9,926 ETH and left the company roughly 96% of the way to its Alchemy of 5% goal without crossing it. The PR valued the ETH at $1,893 per token on Coinbase pricing at the snapshot time. Bitmine also reported 210 BTC and $78 million in cash and marketable securities, with total crypto and cash holdings framed at $11.4 billion in the release headline.

That is leadership by relentless size. No single fireworks week, just steady weekly bids that now sit at 5.82 million tokens and command almost one in twenty ETH in the stated supply figure. Cointelegraph covered the 5.82 million holdings and the staking angle the same day the release hit.

Staking weight and yield math

As of Aug. 16, Bitmine had 5,067,309 ETH staked, about 87% of holdings and described as $9.6 billion at the PR’s $1,893 print. Lee projected about $287 million annualized if the full stack were staked at a 2.61% 7-day yield, and about $250 million on the then-current staking level. Those are projections only, not guarantees, and they sit beside the plain fact that most of the bag is already earning.

The unstaked remainder still leaves room to push the yield number higher if the company keeps feeding the same weekly machine. For now the story is the 5.07 million already locked and the leadership signal that comes from running that size week after week.

Spot context on Sunday

By Sunday, Aug. 23, 2026 at 8:04 a.m. ET, CoinGecko showed ETH at $2,427.88, up 0.21% on the day, with BTC at $77,194 (+0.10%), SOL at $94.40 (+1.25%), and DOGE at $0.092537 (+3.07%). Those live marks are context only and do not reprice the PR’s $1,893 Coinbase figure from the Aug. 16 snapshot. Green candles on the majors kept the chart calm while the treasury print continued to circulate.

What the stack is not

BitMine does not own 5% of ETH. The Aug. 16 figure is about 4.8%. The company has not disclosed further buys after that date in the materials used for this story. The weekly add was 9,926 ETH. Staked holdings stood at 5,067,309 ETH. Alchemy of 5% remains ahead.

Live rooms on Crypto Spaces Network kept the ETH conversation moving through the Aug. 21–23 window with multiple daily Spaces from the usual hosts. The corporate filing gave those rooms a clean number set to measure against: 5.82 million tokens, fourteen months of unbroken weekly buys, and a clear gap still left before 5%. That is the leadership of the move, counted in tokens and weeks, not slogans.
